The Sindh Education Department has announced that all public and private schools in the province will be closed on Monday, August 26, in observance of the Chehlum of Imam Hussain (RA).
This decision, confirmed by a notification, was made by the department’s steering committee.
Chehlum, marking 40 days since the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his 72 companions in the Battle of Karbala, will be observed across the province with religious devotion and heightened security measures.
Mourning processions will take place in various cities and towns to honor the martyrs.
In Karachi, the primary mourning procession will commence at Nishtar Park and follow its traditional route, concluding at the Hussainia Iranian Imambargah in Kharadar.
