The Punjab government signed an agreement on Thursday to operate over 3,600 government schools through a public-private partnership.
The signing ceremony, held in Lahore, was attended by Punjab’s Education Minister, Rana Sikandar Hayat, who served as the chief guest. Under this agreement, the management of 3,600 schools will be handed over to 21 NGOs, 12 education networks, and an education technology firm.
This initiative aims to integrate over 1.8 million children into the education system.
Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat emphasized the project’s potential to provide dignified employment opportunities to thousands of educated youth. He also mentioned that schools showing outstanding performance under this program would be upgraded.
This public-private partnership is expected to play a crucial role in transforming Punjab’s educational landscape by ensuring quality education and greater access for children across the province.
