The results of the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) examinations were announced simultaneously by the eight educational boards of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during a ceremony for top-performing students at the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Abbottabad on Thursday.

At BISE Peshawar, 61,217 students appeared for Part-II of the HSSC examination, with 56,117 passing, achieving a pass rate of 92%. Similarly, 62,886 students took the Part-I exam, and 50,207 passed, with a pass percentage of 79.83. However, the official briefing mistakenly listed the Part-I pass percentage as 99.1.

Girls dominated the top positions in the Peshawar Board, securing all three overall top spots. Among the nine discipline-specific position holders, six were girls, while only three were boys.

Kp Intermediate Results: Girls score higher than boys

Khansa Bibi, daughter of Ghulam Mustafa from Forward Girls College Hayatabad, secured the top position with 1,166 out of 1,200 marks. Yuman Tayyab, daughter of Mohammad Tayyab Anwar, and Eman Khalid, daughter of Mohammad Khalid, both from Jinnah College for Women, University of Peshawar, claimed the second and third positions with 1,162 and 1,160 marks, respectively.

In the pre-engineering group, the top two positions went to students from Hadaf Higher Secondary School for Girls Peshawar, while a student from Peace School and College Charsadda secured third place. The top students were Khansa Khan, daughter of Ghulam Ali (1,146 marks), Noorul Emaan, daughter of Numan Jamil (1,135 marks), and Shama, daughter of Ilyas Ahmad (1,131 marks).

Khizra Mukhtiar, daughter of Mukhtiar Ali, topped the computer science group with 1,129 marks. Ikramullah Khan, son of Iftikhar Khan, and Farhan Ali, son of Ramzan Ali, both from Global Degree College of Science and Commerce Tehkal Bala Peshawar, shared second place with 1,125 marks. Asawir Binte Asif, daughter of Asif Zahoor Khan from Hadaf Higher Secondary School for Girls, placed third with 1,122 marks.

In the humanities group, Saira Gul, daughter of Haji Sartaj Khan, and Hafiza Umama Syed, daughter of Syed Jaffar Shah from Iqra Huffaz Secondary School and College for Girls Warsak Road, shared the top spot with 1,094 marks. Husna, daughter of Ibrahim from PEF Post Graduate College University Town Peshawar, came second with 1,093 marks, while Hifza Amil, daughter of Amir Altaf, secured third place with 1,089 marks.

The top position in the Dars-e-Nizami group was claimed by Jawad Ahmad, son of Saeedur Rahman from Islamia College Peshawar, with 876 marks.

In BISE Abbottabad, 42,329 students appeared for the exams, and 39,806 passed. In the pre-medical group, and overall, Amna Riaz from Tameer Wattan College Abbottabad secured first place with 1,137 marks, followed by Sofia Intikhab from the same school with 1,136 marks, and Mustabshera Jadoon from Tameer-e-Watan School Abbottabad, who placed third with 1,135 marks.
